researchers at Google found vulnerability in several popular Android-smartphone. With it, hackers can gain Root access to the system and run on the device, the malicious code.
The vulnerability is present in the following smartphones based on Android 8 and later:
- Pixel 1 and 2 on Android and 9 preview version of Android 10;
- Huawei P20;
- Xiaomi Redmi 5A;
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 5;
- Xiaomi A1;
- Oppo A3;
- Moto Z3;
- LG Android smartphones 8;
- Samsung Galaxy S7, S8 and S9.
Hackers can use a bug only if the smartphone application will be installed from an unverified source. Also, the hole can be combined with vulnerabilities in Chrome.
Researchers believe that the bug has used Israeli group NSO, which sells to the authorities information about vulnerabilities in iOS and Android. Google will fix the hole in the Pixel smartphones in October 2019. As for the other producers not yet known - though the company they are already informed. While it is better to put applications only from Google Play, and Chrome is replaced by any other browser.
