The latest version of Mac OS X, Lion, brought on a Mac one amusing feature - the ability to insert in texts, emails, and even the names of documents and folders funny icons, pictures and emoticons or Emoji Emoji. Not so long ago they were very popular in Japan, but now conquer and the rest of the world.
The Lion has support Emoji default, as well as in iOS, starting with version 4.0. In a text document Emoji are added to the computer like TextEdit applications, but Microsoft Word program should not supports.
To insert text in these or other funny emoticons, should conduct pre-deployment training. In the Finder window by pressing the key combination Shift + Command + G in the dialog box you need to enter the «/ System / Library / Input Methods» and find the file «CharacterPalette». It is the tool used for insertion into Emoji text. It must be dragged into the Dock, to have quick access to emoticons. You can create a shortcut on the desktop - drag to the desired position and tighten CharacterPalette key Option + Command, before releasing the mouse button.
Well, that's all - nothing complicated. Then run the program CharacterPalette, and select the desired Emoji. By the way, Emoji is conveniently divided into categories: People (People), Nature (Nature, but in the Russian localization somehow translated as "Staff»), Objects (Objects), Places (Places) and Symbols (Characters). By selecting the icon, the user simply drags it into the message, an email or a text document.
There, in CharacterPalette, is set and the size of the icons. This is done in the drop-down menu in the upper left corner of the window. You can also increase the image and the text: just select it and apply font formatting, as you would with regular text.
Finally, Emoji are used in the names of folders and documents. The name is created in the document, e.g., via TextEdit (supplemented with all relevant Emoji) is copied and inserted into a corresponding field name of the folder or document.
All those wishing to use Emoji worth remembering that when sending messages and documents with Emoji picture all these decorations will be displayed correctly on the computers on which is installed Lion, and on the iPad and iPhone with iOS 4.0 or later. On computers with versions of Mac OS, previous "Leo", or on a PC running Windows or Linux does not see the Emoji succeed.
