WhatsApp will stop working on old Android and iOS

WhatsApp is once again shrinking the list of compatible platforms. This January removed support for iOS 8 and Android 4.0.2, but now the application will no longer work on even more old devices.

From November 1st messenger will remove support for 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, iOS 9 and KaiOS 2.5.0. Thus, the new system requirement will be the presence of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, iOS 10, KaiOS 2.5.1 or newer. Separately company notedthat on iPhone with jailbreak, the application will not be supported - regardless of the version of the operating system.

If you are using WhatsApp on an old smartphone, it is recommended that you back up your contacts and correspondence so that later it can be transferred to a new phone (provided that you do not change the system, or go over iPhone to new Samsung Galaxy). After the end of support, this will no longer work.
