Apple has released a new beta of Xcode 11.4 developer software. In him appeared the ability to unify app purchases across platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS. At the same time, the App Store for Mac and iOS devices brought the lists of categories to a single form to remove possible confusion when distributing the new function.
For consumers, this means a great savings opportunity. Now, if you buy an app on your iPhone and want to use it on your computer too, you'll have to buy it again - in the Mac App Store. But now the developers have the opportunity to give the buyer access to multiple platforms for one fee. Also can sync between different versions subscriptions and purchased additional content.
The tool is available to developers now, and the cross-platform applications will appear in the store in March this year. Note that the decision on whether to combine purchases between platforms is made by the developers - Apple itself only created a tool for this.
