LG announced PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier face mask. It has two built-in H13 HEPA filters, similar to those used in home air purifiers.
The mask can be used both outdoors and indoors. A pair of small fans on the inside draw air through the filters. On inhalation, the speed of their rotation increases, and on exhalation, on the contrary, it slows down. Also, the intensity of the fans can be controlled by a patented breathing sensor, which adapts the entire air filtration cycle to the rhythm of breathing.
The design of the mask is developed based on the analysis of faces of various shapes. According to the developers, they managed to create the most versatile and ergonomic accessory that will fit snugly against the skin, eliminating air leakage in the nose and chin area. PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier will be comfortable even for extended use.
The gadget is powered by a built-in 820 mAh battery. It provides 8 hours of autonomous use of the mask in the mode of minimum filtration intensity and 2 hours in the mode of maximum efficiency. Recharge occurs using a special case, which is equipped with a UV lamp to destroy microbes on the surface of the gadget. Also, such a charge can send notifications to a smartphone about the need to replace filters.
The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier will be on display at IFA 2020, which kicks off on September 3. Sales of the device are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year. The price has not yet been announced.
