The official Netflix Twitter account has announced a new project for the service - an action series based on the Resident Evil series of games. Andrew Dabb ("Supernatural") is responsible for the script, the first two episodes will be directed by Bronwen Hughes (she filmed separate episodes of "The Walking Dead", "Better Call Saul" and "Teen Wolf"). Produced by the German film company Constantin Films, which has also worked on three films in the Resident Evil series, including the original 2002.

The first episode is called "Welcome to Raccoon City." There will be 8 episodes in total, each running for 1 hour. Release dates and directors of the remaining six episodes have not yet been disclosed.
By data Fandom, the action will unfold in two time frames:
- Albert Wesker's daughters arrive in Raccoon City and discover its secrets.
- More than 10 years later, only one of the sisters remains alive. There are only 15 million people on Earth, while the remaining 6 billion have turned into monsters.
