Gastritis
Definition and causes
Gastritis - an inflammation of the gastric mucosa caused by the commonly wrong eating habits or hostile to substances stomach. Here is a list of them:
- alcoholic beverages and coffee;
- certain medications, particularly anti-inflammatory, such as aspirin;
- too hot or too cold food and drinks (tea, beer, ice cream);
- Tobacco: Smoking releases nicotine and tar, which dissolve in the saliva and enters the stomach, become a cause of gastritis.
Treatment
gastritis treatment requires a soft, sparing diet, which will not irritate the stomach. It is important to avoid anything that can irritate the stomach, be it smoking or stress.

Gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer
Definition and causes
Ulcer - is a serious damage to the mucous membrane of the stomach or duodenum.
The ulcer can have many causes:
- excess stomach acid, the effect of stimuli: spices, alcoholic beverages, coffee, carbonated drinks, aspirin, tobacco and so on;
- the action of microbes - pathogens of gastritis and ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, such as Helicobacter pylori (Helicobacter pylori);
- stress or tension, which leads to a narrowing of blood vessels and reduce blood flow to the mucous membrane of the stomach, leaving it unprotected.
Treatment
In recent years scientists have proved the failure of a number of traditional treatments for ulcers.
Previously it was thought that the use of milk in large quantities helps heal ulcers. Today we know that milk can increase the level of acid.
Doctors advised to eat often and in small portions. But this practice keeps the stomach in a state of almost continuous stimulation that increases the production of acid and interferes with treatment. Three meals a day is much better than 5-6 receptions.
It is also recommended to avoid eating raw foods and fiber. If you chew them well, they are, by contrast, protects against ulcers.

Hiatal hernia
definition
This type of hernia occurs when the upper part of the stomach is displaced into the thoracic cavity through the esophageal aperture. This anatomical breach prevents operation of the valve between the esophagus and the stomach (sphincter), which will not allow the contents of the stomach back into the esophagus.
The most common symptom of hiatal hernia - the outflow of acidic stomach contents into the esophagus. As a result of the acid attacks the esophagus, and the person experiences the typical burning sensation known as heartburn.
Treatment
Dietary treatment hiatal hernia consists mainly in avoiding:
- products that further relax the sphincter of the esophagus;
- products that stimulate acid production in the stomach.
Correct posture to help avoid pressure on the upper part of the abdomen, and smoking cessation hamper the development of hiatal hernia and gastric inflammation process.
