“Cyberbeast” goes on the hunt: Tesla Cybertruck deliveries have started

Elon Musk officially announced the start of official deliveries of the Tesla Cybertruck - four years after announcement the first electric cars went to their owners.

Of course, it couldn’t have happened without a spectacular video. But what turned out to be much more interesting was not the promo, but a short video where the flagship version of the Cybertruck, called the “CyberBeast,” with a Porsche 911 on a trailer, competes with the Porsche 911.

The three-motor CyberBeast accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds with a range of 550 km and a top speed of 210 km. This modification now costs a hefty $99,990, while the base rear-wheel drive version will cost $60,990 instead of the original $39,900.

The standard version of the Cybertruck accelerates to hundreds in 6.5 seconds with a range of 402 km. Maximum speed is 180 km/h. There is also an intermediate all-wheel drive option with an acceleration of 4.1 seconds and a reserve of 547 km.

During the event, Musk asked Tesla chief designer Franz von Holzhausen to repeat the infamous a 2019 window strength demonstration in which he broke supposed armored glass with a metal ball. This time he threw a baseball, and rather weakly - the glass withstood the impact.

Deliveries of the first cars do not mean free sale. All-wheel drive and CyberBeast models will not be available until sometime in 2024 (no timeframe specified).
