In the assortment of the Huami company, which produces Mi Band bracelets for Xiaomi, a new model of protected smart watches has appeared - Amazfit Ares. Compared to previously presented Amazfit T-Rex, the novelty has a small screen and a lower price.
Amazfit Ares received a 1.28-inch square transflective display with a resolution of 176 × 176 pixels, backlight and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen is touch-sensitive, but mechanical keys on the side are provided for interacting with the watch in extreme conditions. The case is made of durable polycarbonate and has a 5ATM water resistance, which in theory guarantees complete tightness and the ability to float with the gadget. Dimensions: 46.5 x 55.6 x 14 mm and weighs 49 grams.
The watch is aimed at athletes and fans of active recreation, therefore, it supports more than 70 different training modes. In total, the watch is able to track 40 key indicators of physical activity and other metrics, including heart rate, movement speed, blood oxygen saturation level and others.
Amazfit Ares also support the FIRSTBEAT system, which allows you to track information about the state of the body and transmit it to a paired gadget in real time. Based on the collected data, reports are generated on the effectiveness of training and the rate of recovery after sports.
For jogging in open areas, the gadget provides support for GPS + GLONASS. Amazfit Ares smartphones are connected via Bluetooth 4.2 LE. All notifications are of course supported. In terms of autonomy, it claims 14 days of operation in normal use, up to 90 days in "watch only" mode and 23 hours with continuous use of navigation. Make-up is carried out through a magnetic connector.
Amazfit Ares watch presented in black and green at the price of 499 yuan (≈5,200 rubles). In China, orders for them are accepted from May 19, and on AliExpress they can be expected in June. For comparison, the Amazfit T-Rex model at the start cost 799 yuan (≈8 200 rubles).
