One of the main tasks of descriptive geometry is the formation and development of spatial geometric thinking - a personality ability necessary for design and technological activities. Engineering creativity is unthinkable without knowledge of the laws connecting spatial form and its flat image. This determines the large role of descriptive geometry in the formation of a future specialist - discipline is a theoretical basis for mastering engineering graphics and subsequent general professional and special disciplines.
Engineering graphics provides the basis for the study of other general engineering disciplines: strength of materials, theory of mechanisms and machines and parts machines that form the ability to develop working design and technical documentation of parts and assemblies of mechanical engineering structures, formalize completed design and construction work in accordance with current standards, technical specifications and other regulations documents.
The section of descriptive geometry includes the study of the theory and practice of graphic constructions of spatial geometric shapes on a plane. Examples of the application of descriptive geometry to solving practical problems are considered.
Modern design methodology is represented by the section of engineering graphics: “3D technology for the development of design documents.” The basic knowledge gained from studying the previous sections of the discipline is developed when mastering the principles of designing three-dimensional models of parts, assemblies, and when creating working drawings.
