The goal of the program is to improve the professional level of teachers in the course “Fundamentals of Religious cultures and secular ethics", as well as advanced training for everyone interested in studying this problems. The structure and content of the curriculum are focused on establishing a connection between the thematic sections of the course and the list of basic national values of Russian society that form the basis of the education and socialization program for schoolchildren upon receipt of the basic general education, as well as the national educational ideal formulated in the Concept of Spiritual and Moral Education Russian schoolchildren.

The program includes a Basic part, including a discussion of legal, methodological and psychological-pedagogical problems of teaching the course, three Modules - “Traditional religions in Russia and the world”, “Traditional religions and basic national values of Russian society” and “Modern religious situation and everyday practice of traditional religions of Russia", workshops, intermediate and final certifications, visits to traditional religious organizations accompanied teachers.
