Apple admitted: the new version of watchOS drains the watch faster

If you haven't updated yet, it's better to wait for the next version.
Apple is preparing an interim update to fix the issue that some users have experienced with the Apple Watch running out of juice faster on watchOS 10.1. By data MacRumors, this was reported in an internal document that the company sent to service centers.
Complaints about problems with the watch's autonomy began to appear shortly after release watchOS 10.1 at the end of October. Judging by posts on Reddit and specialized forums, in some cases after the update the battery drains much faster on all compatible models from Series 5 to Ultra 2. Here are some comments from affected Apple Watch owners:
1. “watchOS 10.1 is killing my Apple Watch battery. From 100% to 50% they are discharged in less than an hour. It’s simply impossible to use them,” Martin Cooper.
2. “My Series 8 watch updated to watchOS 10.1 this morning and the battery is now fully charged in about 2 hours,” bo_tanaka.
3. “After the new 10.1 update, my Series 6 battery does not charge beyond 50% and is completely drained in about 15 minutes,” - sherpa14k.
4. “My colleague’s Ultra 2 also drains absurdly fast. From 100% to 10% in 3 hours,” Hatsushira.
According to MacRumors, Apple's document does not specify the cause of the problem or its scope. It is only reported that it will be fixed in an update that will be released in the near future. This is likely an interim build of 10.1.1, but in the worst case, users will have to wait for the release of watchOS 10.2 in December.
If you haven't updated your watch yet and don't want to risk it, it makes sense to wait for the next version to come out.
