10 Habitual Thoughts That Make You Waste Your Time
Miscellaneous / / July 17, 2023
One exercise will help get rid of them.
If you've ever told yourself you'd do something but didn't do it, you may not enough of the right habits - small actions that we perform every day and which add up to something more. In any area of life, we become what we usually think about and what we usually do.
Success doesn't come overnight. We achieve it thanks to the little things that we repeat day after day. And failures arise in the same way - from small daily failures that gradually combine and one day turn life into one continuous disaster. Here are some examples of thoughts that many repeat over and over again, because of which they waste almost all their time and cannot build a successful and happy life.
What thoughts make you waste time
1. I will not change anything and hope for other results
This is sometimes defined as insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. But if you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you get.
Often the only difference between someone more successful and someone less successful is not outstanding ability, but courage. The courage to bet on your ideas, take calculated risks, and take confident steps forward.
And while some people sit and wait for life to change as if by magic, others roll up their sleeves and get to work.
2. The right moment has not yet come
Even when we have productive intentions, we often spend too much time waiting for ideal circumstances. But, of course, they never happen. Because the road is created when we move forward, not when we wait.
Think of today as the "beginning" of a new life. The next nine months are yours, you can do whatever you want with them. So give them meaning. You can be "born" as a completely different person. The only question is who you want him to be.
And no you don't need to be over confidentbefore taking the next step. On the contrary, moving forward is what will strengthen your self-confidence and become fuel for development.
3. All good things will come to me easily
Truly meaningful goals are rarely achieved without significant effort and sacrifice. Decades later, you are unlikely to remember the moments when everything was easy for you. Rather, you will appreciate the moments when you faced difficulties and passed them with dignity. You will be proud of the inner strength, thanks to which you have achieved what seemed impossible.
So don't do what's easy today. Do what you can. Surprise yourself with your abilities. And no matter how hard it gets, remember that it's better to feel fatigue by putting in the effort and learning new things than by doing nothing. Efforts are never in vain, even if the final result disappoints you. They always make you stronger and more experienced.
4. Why should I risk
Life is a risky business in itself. Every decision and interaction, every step forward, and even getting out of bed in the morning is all a small risk. To live is to know that you are taking risks and to trust yourself. Staying out of bed, clinging to the illusion of security, is slowly fading away without even trying to truly live.
If you ignore your aspirations and let the feeling of uncertainty constantly stop you, you will never know for sure. Sometimes this is much worse than realizing that your aspirations were wrong. 'Cause if you're wrong, you might Correct mistake and move on instead of looking back and wondering what could have been.
5. Yesterday I was refused - today is the main event of the day
Learn to deal with rejection. They teach us to give up things on which our well-being does not depend. It is not always easy, but some chapters of our biography must end without a final point. It is pointless to waste time and lose yourself trying to fix something that should remain broken.
We often allow failuresreceived in the past dictate our actions in the future. We believe that we do not deserve a better evaluation than we once received from some person or under some circumstances. But past failures don't mean you're not good enough. They show that the other person or other circumstances simply didn't match up with what you were then willing to offer. This means you now have more time to develop new ideas, get better at what you do, and immerse yourself in the work that inspires you.
6. I won't take responsibility
You are not responsible for absolutely everything that happens in your life. But you are responsible for getting rid of the patterns of thinking and behavior that have appeared in you as a result of these events. It is useless to blame the past for being limited in the present. It is better to change your attitude towards what you remember and take a step forward.
A combination of your decisions and external factors that are out of your control brought you to where you are now. Take over responsibility for his next step - he is the one who can change everything. Leave everything in the past that cannot be revisited and become a part of the present moment. Here and now you have all the possibilities you need. Accept responsibility and implement them.
7. I have no new ideas and I do not see any prospects
Success in life does not depend on whether you are always right or not. To make real progress, you need to drop the assumption that you already have answers to all questions. Even as you get wiser with age, you need to remind yourself that your knowledge of the world is not finite. What is true in the present may easily be false in the future. An established point of view is the most destructive illusion.
Don't stop learning and investing in yourself. Consume books. Connect with people, including those who think otherwise. Ask questions. Listen carefully. And don't just accumulate knowledge. Share them with others and use everything you've learned to change the world for the better.
8. Gotta listen to what people say
Our mind is our haven, hidden from prying eyes. Don't let negative thoughts settle there and don't let others pollute it. Take care of your personal boundaries and what you receive from others.
Of course, there will always be people around who will criticize you, no matter what you do. If you want to dance, they won't like the music you do it to. If you want to open a business, they will list a lot of reasons why you won't succeed. They will assume that you don't have what it takes to be successful. But they are wrong.
Focusing on the negative is much easier than staying positive. Criticize easier than offering constructive ideas. When you take on a new business, don't listen to the critics who try to distract you. Spend more time with people who support you and recognize your potential.
9. I will hold on to the idea to the last, even if it is unrealistic
Not everything in life is destined to come true. Sometimes you need to watch for new information and analyze it, and then admit to yourself that you were wrong all this time. That your idea is just an illusion that was never what you thought it was.
This is one of the most difficult things to realize and accept. And although you never had what you wanted, you may feel a sense of loss. The key is to be aware of this, learn to let go of the situation and keep moving forward.
10. I have consistently high expectations
High expectations turn simple things into complex ones. Each difficult life situation can be either an excuse for despair or an opportunity for personal growth - it depends on your choice. Start by letting go of the expectations that are holding you back.
Our mind is the battlefield where the most intense conflicts take place. It's a place where half the things we fear never happen. It is there that expectations take over us and we become a victim of our own thinking. Of course, you should not lower your standards, but if you eliminate rigid expectations from life, you will save yourself from disappointment in everything.
One of the most important moments in life is when you find the courage to let go of what cannot be changed. Because when you can no longer change the circumstances, you need to change yourself. And it changes everything.
