“Gargoyles” to be made into a live-action series for Disney+
Miscellaneous / / October 17, 2023
It looks like there will be both a TV show and a feature film.
Cult “Gargoyles” 30 years after the release of the first series will receive a new TV adaptation - in live-action format for streaming Disney+.
The writer and showrunner of the series will be Gary Dauberman, who worked on the horror film Annabelle and the It duology. The production will be handled by Atomic Monster, the production studio of James Wan (The Conjuring, Fast and Furious 7). The project is still at an early stage of development.
Gargoyles was produced by Walt Disney Television Animation and aired from 1994 to 1997. The plot was based on gargoyle statues transported from a castle in Scotland to modern-day New York. Once in the metropolis, the statues awaken from a thousand-year spell and take on the role of protectors of the city.
It is noteworthy that quite recently appeared on the Internet details about another adaptation of “Gargoyles” - a feature film from director Kenneth Branagh (“Belfast”, “Murder on the Orient Express”, “Thor”).
