IPhone 15 can finally view charge cycles

In settings iPhone 15noticed a new subsection for Apple smartphones in which users can view the current number of battery charging cycles.

Previously, the battery status of the iPhone was displayed only in the “Maximum Capacity” format and, in percentage terms, showed its capabilities relative to the factory capacity. And the number of recharges could only be seen using third-party applications or after analyzing the state of the device.

Now this information is available directly on the phone - in the “Settings” → “General” → “About this device” menu. This page indicates not only the number of cycles, but also the production and activation dates of the battery.

Apple noted that one cycle is recorded each time the user reaches 100% of the capacity. And it doesn't have to happen all at once. For example, you used 75% during the day and then fully charged the device at night, then the cycle will be counted after using the next 25%. The lifespan of the lithium-ion batteries used in iPhones decreases with each full charge cycle.

It was also previously revealed that all iPhone 15 models have a new battery status setting that prevents the device from charging beyond 80%. Let us remind you that in Russia it is already possible design pre-order for smartphones. They will officially go on sale on September 22.
