Casey Affleck won an Oscar for his role in this film. This is a heavy drama about grief that does not leave the audience indifferent. It’s worth watching the film at least once: not everyone will decide to review “Manchester by the Sea” and again expose themselves to such vivid emotional experiences.

Lars von Trier directed a creepy drama starring Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The picture contains scary images that are hard to forget, such as bloody genitals. Perhaps Trier has made the most vivid film about grief and self-torture.

Derek Vinyard is the leader of a skinhead gang. He is full of hatred towards representatives of other races and deals with them with unprecedented cruelty. This is how he delights his younger brother Danny. Derek goes to prison for murder, and Danny decides to continue the case.
The main role in the film was played by Edward Norton. After the release of the film, he received worldwide recognition, as well as an Oscar nomination. "American History X" is full of difficult-to-watch footage, there is a lot of violence and hatred, but this film is definitely worth watching.

The driver works as a stuntman on a film set during the day, and transports criminals at night. His life changes when he meets a girl. He decides to help her and doesn’t yet know where it will go.
Ryan Gosling played the role of a silent driver without a name. Later, the actor also had similar roles, but this particular one became a cult favorite for viewers. Nicolas Winding Refn directed a brutal, but at the same time beautiful and melancholic drama that influenced not so much cinema as electronic music.

Christopher Nolan managed to make a superhero film that appeals not only to comic book fans. “The Dark Knight” is a dark and frightening film, and Heath Ledger played a real psychopath whom you can only be afraid of.
