Almost half a year remains before the annual WWDC presentation, but the French edition of iPhonesoft is already learned about from an insider Apple plans to support smartphones and tablets. Surprisingly, the company can update all iPhones currently running iOS 13 to iOS 14.
IOS 14 will be updated:
- iPhone 11;
- iPhone 11 Pro;
- iPhone 11 Pro Max;
- iPhone XS Max;
- iPhone XS;
- iPhone XR;
- iPhone X;
- iPhone 8 Plus;
- iPhone 8;
- iPhone 7 Plus;
- iPhone 7;
- iPhone 6S;
- iPhone 6S Plus;
- iPhone SE
- iPod touch 7.
The source also mentions the iPhone 12 (5G), iPhone 12 Pro (5G) and iPhone 9 / iPhone SE 2 - but it is already obvious that the new items in 2020 will not remain without the latest version of the OS. It's surprising that the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE remain on the list, but iPhonesoft notes that the list may thin out if developers run into problems testing new firmware on old devices.
But in the case of iPadOS 14, the situation is not so rosy: Apple will definitely stop supporting the iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2 this year.
Here are the models that will receive the update:
- iPad Pro 12.9 ”(2016 and 2017);
- iPad Pro 10.5 ”;
- iPad Pro 9.7 ”;
- iPad Pro 11 ”;
- iPad Air 3;
- iPad 5;
- iPad 6;
- iPad 7;
- iPad mini 5.
