The model received a new all-black color.
Apple presented at its annual presentation of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 smart watch. The new product offers a number of improvements compared to the model first generation, which came out a year ago.
The new product runs on the S9 chip, which has 60% more transistors and runs 30% faster than the S8 used in the original model. It also features a quad-core neural engine, which doubles the speed of neural tasks, Apple says.
Additionally, Ultra 2 features the new U2 ultra-wideband location chip, making it easier to use the watch when locating your iPhone.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 boasts the brightest display in the company's entire lineup, with up to 3,000 nits. There's also a new Modular Ultra watch face, and night mode now automatically turns on in the dark thanks to an ambient light sensor.
The watch features a double-tap gesture for actions such as answering a phone call and calling ending and snoozing alarms, playing or pausing music and much more other. To do this, you need to connect your index and thumb.
Battery life in energy saving mode is now up to 72 hours, in normal mode – up to 36. With them you can dive 40 meters under water.
The original Ultra was only available in raw titanium gray, but the second-generation model rounds out the lineup with an all-black option. Plus, there are additional strap colors.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 was priced at $800. Pre-orders start today and shipping will begin on September 22nd.
