Pavel Durov announced Stories in Telegram

Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the imminent appearance of the Stories function or stories in the messenger - the very circles that will allow you to share bright moments from life.

Pavel noted that initially the company was against this feature, since Stories are already everywhere. However, Telegram wouldn't be Telegram if it didn't listen to its users and innovate existing formats.

Here are a number of features that will distinguish Stories in Telegram:

• Confidentiality. You can determine who can see each of your stories down to the smallest detail: everyone, only your contacts (with exceptions), a few selected contacts, or a list of close friends.
• Compact interface. The stories will be placed in an expandable section at the top of the chat list, making them easily accessible without taking up precious space.
• Flexibility. Stories posted by any contact can be easily hidden by moving them to the "Hidden" list in the "Contacts" section, removing them from the main screen.

• Signatures. In addition to using dozens of powerful photo and video editing tools, you can add captions to your stories to put in more context or links, and tag others of people.
• Dual camera support. Building on the success of Telegram Video Messaging, we've added the ability to post photos and videos taken with both the front and rear cameras of your smartphone.
• Time to choose. You can choose how long your story will last - 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours - or have stories permanently displayed on your profile page with individual privacy settings for each one.

Durov added that the ability to save your stories on the profile page will make Telegram more informative and colorful. Not only will you be able to view more content from your closest contacts, but you will also get more information about the users you interact with in groups or in channel comments.

And, of course, it will be possible to repost messages from channels in stories, which will make interesting content viral, spreading it faster across the Web.

Stories is currently in its final testing phase and will be available in early July. This will mark a new era in Telegram, where the messenger will become even more fun and social than it is now, summed up Paul.
