By the first launch, the Americans and Chinese will be at home on the satellite.
The European Space Agency (ESA) will build a spacecraft to send people to the moon, writes financial times. However, these ambitions are planned to be realized only in the next decade.
In this way, Europe expects to close the gap in astronautics from the United States and other countries, including Russia and China. The publication notes that now in matters of studying the natural satellite of the Earth, ESA is more like a younger brother of NASA than an equal partner.
Earlier it was reported that the agency entered into agreements with ArianeGroup, Avio, SENER and The Exploration Company to develop reusable rockets. Now proposals are being prepared for these companies on the joint creation of spacecraft.
What is happening in the US, China and India is impressive. If you take a step back and look at the position of Europe in the world, you will see that it is not participating [in the moon race] at the same level. I see many opportunities, some of which have already been missed.

According to the agency, over the past few years, various national space agencies and private companies announced more than 100 lunar missions by 2030. And "Europe is only ahead of two of them," ESA analysts said in a report.
