Bloggers threw a basketball into the ring from a height of 260 meters

This is a new world record.
Youtubers from the channel Dude Perfect have published a new video in which they showed how they broke the record for basketball throws from a height. They already did it in 2016, throwing a ball into the ring from a tower 161 meters high. But in 2018, the authors of the How Ridiculous channel broke their record by throwing from 200 meters. In 2023, Dude Perfect decided to reclaim the title by raising the stakes even higher.
They requested access to a multitude of buildings over 200 meters high, and after dozens of rejections, they found someone who agreed to provide the site: the owners of the Stratosphere skyscraper in Las Vegas. They decided to throw from the 121st floor at a height of 260.9 meters.
Time was limited: bloggers had access to the Stratosphere for only three days. At the same time, it was windy in Vegas, so the ball could easily fly hundreds of meters from the target. Which, in general, happened: the wind was so strong that even the protective net stretched around the site did not help, it was impossible to control the ball.
For three days, none of the balls thrown even touched the ring, let alone hit. In addition, in the first two days, many attempts were not made because of the wind: it was simply dangerous to continue. On the third day, we were much more lucky with the weather. Time was running out, but in the last hour a miracle happened. Here's the moment in the video:
A successful throw was preceded by more than a thousand unsuccessful attempts, but it was not in vain. Now it remains only to wait to see if anyone will beat this record.
