At the same time, the average cost of sold iPhones is growing.
Analysts at Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) shared latest report on the smartphone market. This annual statistic focuses on new iPhone buyers in the US and the platforms they've used before.
It turned out that 83% of buyers changed one iPhone to another, 15% switched from Android, about 2% switched from other systems, feature phones or bought a smartphone for the first time. In the previous three years, Android transitions were between 10-11%, and 15% of transitions between systems were last seen in 2018.
CIRP researchers note that they plan to analyze the reasons for the platform change in a future report.
Formerly the same company toldthat Apple managed to achieve an increase in the average cost of smartphones sold from $882 in March 2022 to $988 in March 2023.
The reasons are the popularity of the iPhone 14 Pro and the presence of the more expensive Plus model in the line, together with the relatively budget mini in previous generations.
