It will help you not to suffer from heat and sweaty back.
Fujitsu has announced a portable air conditioner that looks like a regular backpack. It is able to cool the user's body and is designed for hiking in hot weather.
The air conditioner uses water cooling to reduce the temperature of the air around it. The heat exchanger transfers the user's body heat to the radiator, and the circulation pump transfers the cooled water to the contact surface on the back of the backpack. The manufacturer claims that after 2 hours of using the air conditioner, the user's back will not heat up above 28°C for another 90 minutes at an air temperature of 35°C.
Mizuno, a Japanese manufacturer of sporting goods, was responsible for the development of the backpack itself. Each strap has two soft inserts to distribute the load on the shoulders and reduce fatigue when worn.
It is noted that during use, condensation may appear around the cooling element, but the air-conditioned pocket is isolated from the rest of the backpack, so things will not suffer from this.
The backpack is made of lightweight Lambird material and weighs 2.4 kg with air conditioning. The electronics are completely removable: you can pull them out and use the backpack as usual when cooling is not required.
Before use, the block with coolant must be stored in the freezer and inserted into a backpack before going out. The declared autonomy of the system is 36 days when used for two hours daily. After that, the air conditioner will need to be charged (it takes 2-3 hours).
Fujitsu has already launched crowdfunding backpack at the Japanese site Makuake. Residents of Japan can order it at a price of 35,000 yen (≈20,200 rubles), the novelty should go on sale in July. At the time of publication, the project has already collected 1.5 times more than the amount needed to launch.
