Google will add a chatbot, short videos and messages from the forums to the search results

Google is planning a massive overhaul of its search engine. In particular, it is planned to add tools based on artificial intelligence to it. This is stated in the internal documents of the corporation, which turned out to be at the disposal of The Wall Street Journal.

The company wants to phase out the classic “ten blue links” model in search results and make the service more person-centric.

Short videos will appear in the search results. Thus, the company wants to remain relevant among young people who are used to receiving information in this format.

Promotion of user-generated content is another corporate strategy. There are plans to add more posts from online forums, primarily Reddit.

It will not do without neural networks. Google add to search chat bot, which will not only produce more relevant results, but also display additional questions to the query to help users get more accurate and reliable information. In general, it will be possible to communicate with AI as with a living person. This project is codenamed Magi.

The launch of Magi is expected to be announced by the company at I/O 2023 next week. The rest of the "search engine overhaul" is due later this year.
