Even the AI experiments at Bing didn't help Microsoft.
In April, Apple's Safari managed to overtake Microsoft Edge as the top desktop browser. This became known from another report analysts at StatCounter, dedicated to the spread of browsers around the world.
As of April 2023, Safari's global desktop browser market share was 11.87%, while Edge's was only 11%. But both are very far from Chrome with its 66.13%.
However, things may change in the coming months when the new chatbot bing become available to more users.
It is noteworthy that in Russia the situation is significantly different from the world. Chrome is still the most popular, but it has 53.32% of the market. Its most serious competitors in the country are Yandex Browser (22.13%) and Opera (9.52%). Firefox has 5.47%, Edge has 5.14%, and Safari has a mere 3.67%.
