Black actress could play Hermione in 'Harry Potter' TV series

Rowling has previously stated that Hermione's skin color was never mentioned in the books.
In the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast, prominent entertainment insider Jeff Snyder stated that Warner Bros. puts "a lot of effort into getting more actors of color" in the coming Harry Potter series. About it writes The Direct.
Snyder noted that among the key characters, Hermione has the highest chance of changing skin color now - she can be played by a black actress or a representative of indigenous peoples. In the original films, she was portrayed by Emma Watson.
Moreover, the insider added that some of the writers of the new "Harry Potter" may also be BIPOC.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time an actress of color has been cast as Hermione. In the two-part play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" in 2016, the black actress Noma Dumezweni played the girl. Then J. TO. Rowling spoke in defense of the casting, noting that "Noma was cast because she was the best actress for the part."
The author and creator of Harry Potter also confirmed that Hermione's skin color was never mentioned in the books, although some readers noted that there are small details of the character's appearance that could confirm her race.
The Harry Potter franchise has been repeatedly criticized for its lack of racial diversity and involvement more people of color in the reboot is an important step in improving the franchise, according to The Direct. What do you think?
