Galaxy S23 and OnePlus 11 will receive updates until 2028

Both will get Android 17 and another year of security updates on top.
Launched earlier this week, the Galaxy S23 smartphones will ship with Android 13 out of the box (plus One UI 5.1 on top). And Samsung continues with the Galaxy S21 tradition continued flagship support.
All three new products will receive major Android updates until 2026 inclusive - that is, up to Android 17. But even after that, smartphones will continue to be supported, albeit in the form of security updates. The manufacturer plans to release them until 2028. However, towards the end of the support cycle, the release frequency of these updates will decrease.
Over time, security updates will come once a month, then once a quarter. Samsung is taking such measures to pay more attention to supporting current models - and by 2028 it will already be the Galaxy S28 (if the naming scheme does not change).
So far, no Android smartphone manufacturer can compete with Samsung in terms of flagship updates. Even Google only promises three major Android updates for its Pixels.
However, Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, quickly responded to reports of Samsung's excellent support. He said on his Twitter that submitted In early January, OnePlus 11 will be the first among the manufacturer's smartphones to receive 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates - that is, also until 2028.
Perhaps soon other manufacturers will follow Samsung and OnePlus, and Apple will no longer be so stand out a lot (although the one-time release of updates for all compatible devices is still nice bonus).
