Shortly after the announcement of flagship smartphones Redmi K60 Xiaomi also showed a new affordable model: Redmi 12C.
The smartphone received a 6.71-inch HD + display with a notch for a 5-megapixel camera. The main camera unit uses a 50MP main module with intelligent image enhancement. Details about the second module are not reported - it is probably a depth sensor. A fingerprint scanner has also been added to the camera island.
Responsible for performance is the MediaTek Helio G85 processor. It is complemented by 4 or 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Built-in memory 64 or 128 GB (5.1 eMMC), you can add more using microSD cards up to 512 GB.
It uses a specially adapted version of MIUI 13 (probably based on Android 12), so some shell features may not be available to Redmi 12C users.
The 5,000 mAh battery is charged via an outdated microUSB, so the maximum charging speed is 10 watts. Headphone jack is present.
Redmi 12C is already on sale in China at a price of 699 yuan (≈7,400 rubles) for the basic 4/64 GB version. Models for 4/128 and 6/128 GB cost 799 and 899 yuan, respectively (that's about 8,400 and 9,500 rubles). The release of the international modification has not yet been reported.
