Although there was room on the door, only one could escape.
"Titanic" was released 25 years ago, but viewers around the world are still unhappy with how the director dealt with the main character. When viewed, it may seem that there is enough space on the wooden door to save both Jack and Rose. James Cameron seemed to be quite fed up with hearing this, so he did a full-fledged scientific study. He shared Details from the Toronto Sun:
We did a thorough forensic examination with a hypothermia expert, during which we reproduced the raft from the movie and performed the experiment. Based on this, we are going to release a small study in February.
We took two stuntmen with the same body weight as Kate and Leo, put sensors on them, after which they plunged into icy water and checked if both of them could escape in such conditions. No, only one could survive.

This is not the first attempt to put an end to the story of Rose and Jack. In 2012, Cameron collaborated with The MythBusters to prove himself right. But the hosts of the show did not justify the hopes of the director and
found option in which both could survive. Although the buoyancy of the door would not really be enough to keep both of them above the water, this could be fixed by Rosa's life jacket, secured under the door.Cameron to this conclusion reacted skeptical: Jack should have taken off his life jackets and Rosa, ducked under the door and managed to somehow fasten one of the vests so that it doesn't get washed away in two minutes - and all this in ice water, when his brain is already supercooled. Keeping his upper body above the water, hoping that the rescuers would find them before he died, would be a much better idea in such a situation.
Looks like the end of Jack's story and the door will finally be put in early next year. Cameron announced the publication of the results of the study in National Geographic by Valentine's Day, when the "Titanic" will be released in re-release.
