Now, after watching the trailer, you can immediately start the movie itself.
Google introduces YouTube introduces a new feature called "Primetime Channels" that will allow you to stream series and movies from over 30 services directly to the YouTube interface. All you need is a regular subscription to the desired cinema.
YouTube will partner with 35 partners at launch, including well-known streaming services like Paramount+ and Epix, as well as the more niche The Great Courses and Magnolia Selects. Each one will work like any other YouTube channel, with a curated homepage and tons of videos.
All videos will appear in the Movies & TV section of the YouTube app, as well as search results, recommendations, and other places on the platform. Users will be able to leave comments and put likes or dislikes.
The Verge notesthat many services may well enlist such support from Google in order to expand their audience. After all, two billion people use YouTube every month. However, the largest market players are unlikely to agree to this. This applies to Netflix, Disney + and HBO Max - they are not on the list of partners.
For now, YouTube Primetime Channels only launches in the US. A little later, the service will appear in other countries.
