Russians will be obliged to check gas equipment in apartments

Until the end of the year or in January 2023, the State Duma of the Russian Federation will consider a bill obliging residents to conclude contracts for the maintenance of gas equipment with the same company with which the management company cooperates. About it write "Izvestia" with reference to the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Utilities Sergei Pakhomov.

The new bill introduces the principle of "one house - one service organization". Now citizens can enter into contracts with any company, as a result, 10-50% of apartments do not have agreements at all and have not been checked for years. Now state bodies - state housing inspections - will check the existence of concluded contracts, Pakhomov added.

Also, the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Public Utilities is considering tougher penalties for owners who have not concluded contracts, a complete audit of the technical condition of the gas equipment in homes across the country and the ability to install gas detectors with emergency shutdown systems in each apartment at the expense of capital repair funds.
