Scientists have reconstructed the face of Pharaoh Ramses II 3200 years after his death

Scientists from Egypt and England have made the first "scientific reconstruction of the face" of Pharaoh Ramses II, who ruled from about 1279-1213 BC. e. The model is based on a computed tomography (CT) scan of his real skull.
CT gave an idea of the shape of the head, which specialists use in the anatomy modeling system. As part of a sequential process, she builds the face, starting from the muscle tissue and fat layers, and ending with the skin itself.
Experts found data on the color of the eyes and hair, as well as wrinkles and moles of the pharaoh, in ancient Egyptian texts. They noted that Ramses II was quite an attractive Egyptian with a large nose and powerful jaw.
Ramses II ruled Ancient Egypt for 66 years and died at the age of about 90, but specialists during the reconstruction “turned back the clock”, showing his probable appearance in his prime, at 45 years old.
By opinion Professor Sahara Salim of Cairo University, who led the reconstruction, this re-creation of the image of the ruler helps to restore the humanity of the mummies and their heritage.
