Get a lemon or lime juice - not so difficult. But we - layfhakery - used to take from life, but in this case, from citrus, all! And if you want to squeeze the lemon from cover to cover, and to obtain from it the maximum, then there are a few tricks, how not to lose a single drop of juice.
1. Lemons and limes have to break in
This is a classic but effective technique to obtain lemon juice. Run in citrus fruits on chopping board or directly on the worktop, with the force of pressing the wrist. As a result of the collapse of the membrane around the inside of the fruit capsules, which contain and want us juice. If you are going to squeeze citrus hands, and you do not have special tools for this purpose, this method significantly facilitate and speed up the process of getting the juice.
2. Citrus hold a few seconds in the microwave
Try before by prying of citrus juice to put them in the microwave just for 10 seconds, and the result will amaze you! The process is somewhat similar to the method of running around. Why it happens? One explanation is the fact that the microwave disperses water molecules in the fruit pulp so that they tear the membrane around the capsules and juice. As a result, the fruit becomes like a balloon with the juice, which when cutting liquid without any problems poured out.
Another explanation for the effectiveness of this method, which is more likely: a warm and moving molecules membrane around the water make capsules with juice and fruit peel softer and more pliable deformation - cutting or compression.
3. Citrus freeze, then reheat in the microwave
Water expands when it freezes. It is a fact. Accordingly, the thin membrane around the capsules with juice or burst will be sufficiently brittle. And later, when heated in the microwave, they are even easier to burst. Then certainly get juicy ball covered with zest, which is super easy to squeeze and get the necessary juice to the last drop.
The only drawback of this method - the time. If the microwave does its job quickly - 30-60 seconds, then to freeze lemons and limes are required hours. So for the sudden desire to enjoy a refreshing lemonade, this technique is not suitable. Nevertheless, it is very effective.
