Just Add Water: German Monks Create the World's First Powdered Beer
Miscellaneous / / April 02, 2023
The Neuzeller Kloster Brewery created the world's first powdered beer at the Neuzeller Kloster Brewery. To prepare a drink, just add water. Its foam and taste are indistinguishable from the original, writes New Atlas.
Such beer is first brewed in the traditional way, and then processed and converted into a soluble powder. For now, it's a soft drink, but there will be other options in the future.
The powder is already being sold in test mode on the German market. And people willingly buy it, the creators assure. From mid-2023, the partner companies of the monastery plan to start mass production and export to other countries.
It is noted that the supply of powder to stores is much cheaper compared to transporting traditional beer, which is about 90% water. In addition, in theory, its mass production may require less cost and resources.
