Named the best horror films of the last 25 years - one film for each year

Portal Rotten Tomatoes named the best horror movies of every year since 1998. To determine the leaders, the authors of the rating combined the ratings of critics and viewers.

The list starts with the 1998 film The Ring, whose 2002 remake kicked off a string of Japanese and American adaptations.

The best horror films of the 2000s are mainly European cinema: the Spanish "Devil's Backbone" and "Shelter", the British "28 Days Later", "Zombie named Sean" and "The Descent", as well as the Swedish "Let me". Hollywood pictures begin to dominate only in the late 2010s.
