Parade of five planets can be observed from Earth at the end of March
Miscellaneous / / April 02, 2023
It will be best seen on the night of the 28th.
At the end of March, a rare astronomical event will occur in the sky, which is called a large planetary alignment or parade of planets. From Earth, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, Uranus and Mars will be visible at the same time, writes Sky&Telescope.
March 28 is reportedly the best day to observe the March planetary alignment. However, this spectacle will also be visible in the days before and after this date.
Mercury and Jupiter will be the brightest, you need to look for them near the horizon just after sunset. Venus and Mars will be located slightly higher and will also be visible to the naked eye. But Uranus can be seen only with the help of powerful binoculars or a telescope. From the Earth it will seem that the planets are close to each other, as if on the same line.
This phenomenon will be able to observe the inhabitants of the whole world, but only in clear weather. For an overview, it is better to go to the flat terrain, experts recommend.
Several more parades of planets are expected this year. True, not so large. In early April, Mercury, Uranus, Venus and Mars will line up in the sky. At the end of the same month, they will converge again.
