What does your child look like?

At this time embryo already the size of a grain of rice. It is shaped like a tadpole.

In the tissues of the embryo, which are still similar to plates, appear folds, thickenings and furrows. The neural groove twists further, and its edges merge to form a tube. Its front part thickens, bends and creates a support for the formation of the rudiments of the face.

On the sides of the future head, processes appear from the gill arches. The two opposite parts of the first arch grow towards each other to later turn into the upper jaw. Parts of the first and second arc will go to the formation of the structures of the inner and outer ear.

At the same time, the brain develops. It is divided into segments. Future eyes begin to bulge out of it.

Things to remember at this stage

• A woman may develop an aversion to certain smells and foods, or, conversely, an increased craving for them.

• There is a chance that nausea or vomiting will bother you in the morning. And this is good: as shown research, toxicosis suggests that there will most likely not be a miscarriage.
