You plan to move away from the computer for a while? There is a dilemma. After all, I do not want to close the program and shut down the computer, and then to suffer in anticipation of loading Windows! On the other hand, a good idea to think about your wallet and reduce power consumption. Many people have heard, but not all use sleep mode and hibernate the computer. Consider their differences and draw conclusions about the desirability of their use in typical situations.
Members of the most recent editions of Windows (versions 7 and 8) are armed and combined hybrid sleep. Check all three options.
hibernate
Characterized by smaller power consumption as compared to conventional PC mode. Part of the components of the computer is switched off, for example, a hard drive, and the part begins to eat minimal amount of power. All running applications remain in the computer's memory, are continuing their work, but are in standby status. Resuming from hibernation takes place almost instantly, you get ready to use the computer for a few seconds.
hibernation mode
It has been developed preferably for use on laptops, which is extremely important battery life and the ability to quickly use when needed. When the hibernation mode, all open applications from the memory is stored in a separate file on your computer's hard drive, but the computer itself is turned off. Resuming is slower than recovery from sleep mode, but faster than a normal Windows usage. And yes, the system is restored to its original state prior to activation of hibernation mode. That is, all running applications and windows are restored.
Hybrid Sleep
It is useful primarily for desktops and unreliable electric systems. It combines the advantages of the sleep and hibernation mode. Active applications are stored in the RAM and on the hard drive. The meter reduces its momentum. Wake up in the correct form of the computer can even in case of problems with electricity supply.
Output
Leaving your computer for a few minutes or for dinner, it is better to use hibernation mode. You will save a part of the electric power, while returning, you will be able to quickly get to work. Hibernation is important for portable computers. It is better to use when long periods of work with a computer, but at the same time, wanting to get a workable system in a relatively short time. When you use the hybrid sleep mode, you will be sure that dwindling laptop battery or suddenly missing in the current outlet will not result in loss of unsaved data.
