How Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro differs from regular Mi Band 7

July 4 Xiaomi introduced Mi Band 7 Pro - upgraded version of the fitness bracelet Mi Band 7. The novelty looks like a full-fledged watch, but in terms of capabilities, the difference between the gadgets is not so big. Let's highlight the main differences.

Design

Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro does not look at all like a bracelet of a cult series with a recognizable appearance. The manufacturer has moved away from the usual concept of a silicone bracelet with a plug-in oval capsule, giving preference for a separate design with a rectangular case, removable strap halves and a classic clasp.

As a result, Mi Band 7 Pro has become very similar to Huawei Watch Fit 2. Probably, the novelty was created to compete with such devices.

In terms of body size, the difference between Mi Band 7 Pro and Mi Band 7 is quite noticeable:

• Mi Band 7 Pro: 44.7×28.8×11 mm.
• Mi Band 7: 46.5 × 20.7 × 12.25 mm.

At the same time, the weight of the Mi Band 7 Pro increased by only 7 grams - 20.5 versus 13.5 grams for the Mi Band 7.

They have the same moisture protection, 5 ATM, which means that both accessories are quite suitable for the pool or water sports, not to mention the shower.

Screen

The transition to a new design formula resulted in a classic rectangular display with slightly rounded corners.

• Mi Band 7: OLED, 1.62 inches, 490×192 pixels, 326 ppi.

It is also worth noting the Always On Display (AOD) mode - both trackers have it, but the Pro version of the dials can be a little more informative due to the size.

Navigation

Another important difference between the novelty, which for someone may be of key importance, is the emergence of support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. This means you can go for a run while leaving your smartphone at home. Mi Band 7 Pro will record the route and you can see it both on the screen and in the mobile app.

With the basic version of Mi Band 7, which does not have its own GPS chip, route tracking is only possible when the smartphone is constantly connected.

Battery and autonomy

With the expansion of the body of the device, the battery capacity has also grown:

• Mi Band 7 Pro: 235 mAh
• Mi Band 7: 180 mAh

However, the autonomy of the novelty turned out to be slightly lower: 12 days instead of 15 for the regular version of Mi Band 7. If you periodically use GPS, then the operating time of Mi Band 7 Pro is reduced to 6 days.

Charging for both devices is magnetic and does not require removing the strap.

What is the result

In terms of sports modes, health monitoring and other functions, the bracelets are almost identical. Even the sensors for tracking activity are the same, which means that the numbers on the screen should be the same.

As for the NFC chip that the Mi Band 7 Pro has, you can not take it into account. The contactless payment feature is currently only available in China. In Russia, with leaving MasterCard and Visa can no longer count on its appearance.

It turns out that the Mi Band 7 Pro has only four important differences from the regular version of the Mi Band 7:
