Scientists from China have created the most detailed map of the moon

It reflects not only the relief and structure of the rocks, but also the evolution of the satellite.
Scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences have published the most detailed geological map of the moon in history. It is presented at a scale of 1:2,500,000 and offers the most complete knowledge of the satellite's surface obtained in the last 15 years.
The map provides comprehensive information about the geological strata, structural features, lithology and chronology of the surface of the lunar crust, which reflect the dynamic evolution of the satellite.
The map is also a modern illustration of impact basins and craters from different periods, the distribution of 17 types of rocks and 14 types of different structures.
The map can be used free of charge for non-commercial purposes, including scientific research and popularization of science, provided that it is properly cited.
To download the map, open the special article on the website of the National Center for Space Sciences, click on Files there and then on the download button under the Download column. It weighs about 200 MB.
