Microsoft Edge browser will get a built-in VPN
Miscellaneous / / April 29, 2022
It will be free to use, but with limited traffic.
Microsoft is testing a VPN service for its Edge browser. It is not yet available even in the development Dev channel, but some information about it has already appeared on the Web, including on the official website.
The feature is called Microsoft Edge Secure Network. It provides data encryption and prevents online tracking thanks to the Cloudflare network. In just a couple of clicks, all users will be able to hide their geographic location.
Secure Network requires you to sign in to your Microsoft account so that your browser can track your data usage. 1 GB of traffic per month will be offered for free, and after that, an account-linked subscription will be offered. Prices are still in question.
Cloudflare itself does not store any personal user information, and any data associated with browsing sessions is deleted every 25 hours.
Judging by page support on the Microsoft website, the Secure Network service should be available in the near future.
