Xiaomi has updated the list of obsolete smartphones
Miscellaneous / / April 22, 2022
Xiaomi updated List of officially out of service (EOS) devices. The company does not provide system updates and security patches for such smartphones, and also “may not respond” to reports of found vulnerabilities in these devices. In other words, it may not be safe to use them further.
Now the list has been replenished with Mi 9 SE and Mi Play (codenamed Lotus). They came out with Android 9 and Android 8 respectively. While the Play's deprecation is expected (it didn't even get MIUI 12), it's surprising that Xiaomi retired it later than the flagship Mi 8, also released in 2018.
