Fraudsters began to distribute in Russia a program that is issued as a QR code generator about vaccinations, but in reality it downloads several malicious programs to the PC at once. About it write experts Dr. Web.

It all starts with a website on the Web, where users are invited to download a program to generate a fake QR code for coronavirus vaccination. Scammers claim that the code works 99.99% of the time, and that tens of thousands of people have already used the service. The warning also says that you can get a QR code free of charge until December 15, and after that it will cost 150 rubles.

In fact, of course, no code is generated. The program downloads several Trojans to the computer: a stealer to steal passwords, a miner that overloads your PC, and a clipper that replaces the addresses of cryptocurrency wallets and payment systems.

As a result of downloading all this malicious software, the user can lose not only access to personal accounts, but also his money.

In order not to fall for such a bait, experts recommend visiting only sites that you trust, not download files from unverified sources and, of course, use exclusively legal methods of obtaining QR codes.
