Aleksandr Burtsev, an interior designer, specializing in Digital-Russian projects IKEA.
- Alexander, thank you decided to tell us about their work. Most people have the perception of IKEA products: it is always a simple clean lines and well thought-out ergonomics. These are things a certain style. And then you present the project "live books", Which brings together the interiors of different eras and styles. What for?
- The main objective of this project - to show the capabilities of our products and solutions. We would like to say, "This house you have not seen" to dispel the stereotype, which was mentioned above, and prove that it was realistic to realize even seemingly "impossible" interiors of favorite books. In this case, all created solutions are functional, comfortable and full of fresh ideas. Take, for example, from the book room Balzac, wherein the mood has been transfigured small means.
- Why the project is focused on the books?
- We wanted to prove that with the help of our solutions can bring to life a variety of interiors from the old (for example, from French novels of the XIX century) to the fabulous. And that literary works make it possible to work on the territory of dreams, which can be integrated into your home.
- What interior invent simpler: fabulous or real? After all, the works of Balzac and Fitzgerald are talking about historical epoch, and tale - is a solid fantasy.
- For us, there was no significant difference. In our project we will definitely follow the descriptions of the interiors of the books. But at the same time we have created our own interpretation, which does not necessarily coincide with yours. With this project, we show that the impossible is possible and each person will be able to make his own version of the Palace of the Snow Queen, or Dorothy's room of "Oz."
- In what other works, other than those presented in the "Living Book" should look for inspiration?
- There are no restrictions, any work can be taken as a basis. The main thing - do not be afraid to start, and everything will come by itself!
- In the book interiors often lack the technology and gadgets. How perfectly fit a TV or a computer, for example, in the book of the XIX century?
To build a modern technique in classical and even fabulous interiors quite real. Recall, the interiors of the Snow Queen. There is a projector and a lot of storage, where it is possible to integrate all the appliances that you need.
Or the interior of the book "The Great Gatsby" - it is quite possible to build a TV above the fireplace, and he will look harmonious and stylish.
- To make such an interior as in the project "Live Book" Do I have to be a designer? Where to start if you want to live like a book?
- Be bold in their endeavors. If you have a strong desire to create an interior in the style of your favorite character, try and do not be afraid. And we will help our solutions.
