Xiaomi has announced a new gaming smartphone Redmi K50 Gaming. This is the first device created by the Chinese brand in collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team: a special limited version in the colors of the racing team will be available.
The Redmi K40 Gaming successor retained the physical triggers on the right side of the device and received an updated cooling system with two vapor chambers and graphene sheets, which allows you to use all the features of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 without overheating.
The smartphone received a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a sensor sampling rate of 480 Hz. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The hole houses a 20MP Sony IMX 596 front camera, while the main camera consists of a 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor, an 8MP wide-angle module, and a 2MP telemacro. The stereo system from JBL is responsible for the sound.
The 4,700mAh battery supports up to 120W charging, so you can reach a full charge in 17 minutes. During the presentation, Xiaomi showed a time-lapse, during which the smartphone was fully charged in 37 minutes while playing MOBA at the same time.
Out of the box, Redmi K50 Gaming runs on Android 12 with MIUI 13 skin. It supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and has an NFC module for contactless payment.
The smartphone will go on sale in China on February 18. The standard version with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 fast storage costs 3,299 yuan (≈39,200 rubles). Modifications will also be available for 12/128 GB for 3,599 yuan and 12/256 GB for 3,899 yuan, which is approximately 42,700 and 46,300 rubles, respectively. The limited edition Mercedes AMG F1 will be available only in 12/256 GB versions and will cost 4,199 yuan (≈49,600 rubles).
