It will be especially useful for those who have a lot of mobile gadgets, smart speakers and various sensors at home.
Wi-Fi Alliance Organization announced new wireless data transmission standard Wi-Fi 6 Release 2. It provides the best energy efficiency and performance when dealing with a large number of devices and high traffic density.
The main highlight of Release 2 is the support for multi-user MIMO technology for data uploading, which allows multiple connected devices to simultaneously transmit content to an access point (router). This enables faster and more reliable downloads from multiple people at the same time, and also reduces latency for gaming, video streaming and video conferencing.
In the event that dozens of smart mobile devices are scattered around the house, Wi-Fi 6 Release 2 will optimize their power consumption. Gadgets using this standard will be able to rely on special hibernation and sleep modes, which will be especially useful for battery-powered devices.
Wi-Fi 6 Release 2 features apply in all bands supported by the standard, including 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz. They will be able to use routers, IoT devices and mobile gadgets with Wi-Fi 6 and 6E support.
