Yandex presented the second generation of the Station

As part of the annual YaC conference, Yandex announced Station 2, an updated version of the very first smart speaker with Alice.

The device has retained its familiar shape, but the top surface is now completely flat, with touch keys and a luminous panel that responds to the actions of the assistant.

Inside there are two full-range speakers and two passive radiators with a total power of 35 W and a real 360 ° sound effect. They are covered with a grating with an aperiodic structure, which reduces the amount of sound distortion. Multiple speakers can still be combined into a stereo pair.

A special feature of the novelty is the room correction function, which helps to optimize the sound for the geometry of a particular room. In addition, support for the Zigbee smart home protocol and the only developing Matter standard, which will unite all manufacturers of smart gadgets in one ecosystem, is announced.

The second generation "Station" will be on sale in early 2022 in four color options: anthracite, cobalt, sand and copper. The price has not yet been announced.
