Like the Razer Kishi, only for the console.
New Sony patent uncoveredthat the company is working on a PlayStation accessory for smartphones. It consists of two parts that will be attached to the sides of the smartphone and work in conjunction with the touch panel, turning the device into a gamepad.
Such a device can be used to play on the PlayStation console via Remote Play or via the cloud - in a similar way as third-party accessories are now being used to stream Xbox games.
It is not yet clear if this accessory will support vibration and adaptive triggers like in DualSense. The set of keys corresponds to DualSense and Dualshock 4 (with the exception of the PS button for turning on the console and navigation), but on the patent image does not show if there are two triggers on each side, as in the original controllers, or only one by one.
The patent follows a series of news that Sony is interested in the mobile games market. Back in April of this year, the American division of the company
published a vacancy for the head of PlayStation Studios' mobile division (which was quickly closed). At the same time, there have been no reports that the company plans to release a new portable console after the end of support for PS Vita: it seems that smartphones are the priority now.
