How to move the taskbar down, sideways or up
Miscellaneous / / November 16, 2021
Two proven methods for any OS version.
The Windows taskbar, with the Start button, application shortcuts, and other items, is located at the bottom of the screen by default. Although we are used to it, the location is easy to change. For example, on laptops, where screen space is especially valuable, it is more convenient to place the panel on the left or right, so as not to take up space in height.
There are two ways to move the taskbar.
How to move the Windows taskbar using the mouse
Call the context menu by right-clicking on the panel. Make sure there is no checkmark next to "Dock the taskbar". If there is, remove it.
Hold down the left mouse button on an element and drag it to the desired edge of the screen.
To fix a line from accidental movement, right-click on it and check the box next to the option "Lock the taskbar".
How to move the Windows taskbar through settings
Go to the context menu by right-clicking on any empty space on the panel. Open Taskbar Options or Properties in earlier versions of Windows.
Find the option "Position the taskbar on the screen" and select the desired location from the drop-down menu.
