It has become lighter, more comfortable and more functional than the previous model.
DJI, known for its drones, presented a new version of the proprietary stabilizer for smartphones - Osmo Mobile 5. Compared to the previous model, this one received a telescopic handle that allows the device to act as a monopod or selfie stick. At the same time, the weight of the device has been noticeably reduced - by almost 100 grams.
The grip itself has become thinner and more comfortable, but the overall design of the Osmo Mobile 5 has not changed - it is still a foldable gadget that can easily fit in a pocket. The smartphone is attached using a magnetic holder, as in the Osmo Mobile 4, and connects via Bluetooth 5.0.
Three-axis stabilization. Three powerful motors are responsible for it, which guarantee smooth alignment of the position of the smartphone or its rotation when using special shooting modes. The Osmo Mobile 5 now lasts a little over 6 hours on a single charge, and fully charges in about 1.5 hours.
The DJI Mimo app, which lets you control your device, has a new smart ShotGuides mode for beginners. It automatically recognizes the environment and makes recommendations for shooting and editing. There is also support for the updated ActiveTrack 4.0 function, which allows you to track people in the frame and rotate your smartphone for this.
DJI Osmo Mobile 5 will be available in two colors - gray and white. The cost of the device was $ 159 (≈11,700 rubles). In addition to the device itself, the kit includes a magnet for a smartphone, a holder, a tripod, a wrist strap and a case. The DJI Fill Light Phone Clamp, a magnetic holder with built-in selfie light, will be available separately.
